Franchise History

A vegan fast-food concept pioneer, Odd Burger founders James and Vasiliki McInnes began developing their own plant-based meats in 2014 and soon were selling vegan meal kits featuring local ingredients through their company Globally Local. But they couldn’t shake the idea that what the world needed was vegan fast food that was superior to animal-based fast food in taste, nutrition, and affordability. They opened their first location in 2016 in London, Ontario, Canada and scaled quickly by opening a food manufacturing facility in 2018. In April 2021, the company debuted on the Toronto Stock Exchange’s Venture Exchange - the first vegan fast-food company to go public. The company undertook a major rebrand and in June 2021 became Odd Burger.
