Appell Striping Partners with Local Entrepreneurs to Enter Ohio

The new location is being launched by Northeast Ohio residents Liam Wickwire and Ryan Clawson. Liam, a Division I and II tennis player who earned his economics degree from Duquesne University in May 2024, brings a background in new home construction sales and a long-standing desire to build a business in his hometown. Ryan, a Youngstown native, worked his way up the ladder in the automotive industry before overcoming a life-altering diagnosis that left him forced to relearn to walk and talk, and with a desire to make an impact in his community. 

“My journey has required a lot of resilience, grit, and determination,” said Ryan. “After overcoming my illness, I’m ready and motivated to lead with purpose, and make a lasting contribution to my community. When I connected with the Appell leadership team, it felt like the right fit.”

This announcement comes at a pivotal moment, expanding into a state known as an emerging leader in business growth, economic momentum, and innovation. Ohio recently further solidified its position as a premier business destination, climbing from #12 in 2023 to #7 in CNBC's annual America's Top States for Business 2024 rankings. The duo will initially focus on servicing Northeast Ohio, with goals to gradually expand westward into Cleveland and Columbus. 

“Growing up in Canfield, I’ve always dreamed of starting a business in my hometown,” said Liam. “We wanted a venture we could grow locally and scale upwards. We’re excited to hit the ground running, and provide parking lot maintenance to our community.”
