Spherion Staffing and Recruiting Welcomes New Leadership in Worcester

August 14, 2024 // Franchising.com // WORCESTER, Mass. - Spherion Staffing and Recruiting (Spherion) recently announced that Kristi Silva, who currently owns three Spherion locations throughout New England, is taking ownership of the Worcester office from Brian Palaia. Silva assumed ownership of the office in late July.

“I first met Brian while he trained for franchise ownership at my location in Rhode Island, and we have been mentoring and advising each other ever since. I’m honored that he presented me with the opportunity to become the new business owner of the Worcester office,” said Silva. “As a Massachusetts resident, I am committed to serving this community with innovative staffing solutions and making a positive impact alongside my other Spherion locations close by.”

Silva’s extensive career in the staffing and recruiting industry spans more than two decades, starting from the age of 20 as a front desk clerk for a national staffing firm. Her career rapidly progressed through various roles, including on-premise manager, sales manager and branch manager, before her entrepreneurial spirit and passion for staffing led her to open her first Spherion office in 2016 in Brooklyn, Connecticut. Today, she successfully owns and operates two additional locations in West Springfield, Massachusetts and Providence, Rhode Island, which are both located near the Worcester office.

Silva’s commitment to community engagement through Spherion extends to her new location. She plans to join the local chamber of commerce and will continue participating in networking groups related to manufacturing, local business and human resources. Silva has a history of supporting charitable causes, such as food banks and cancer wellness initiatives, and intends to find similar partnerships in Worcester.

Each Spherion office enriches its community by connecting and facilitating employment opportunities every day - and when successful, the office and its investments flow back into the neighborhoods it serves. The power of Spherion is in its local roots.
