Sylvan Learning Franchise Owners Awarded Territory, Service Full Province
June 12, 2024 // Franchising.com // BALTIMORE - Sylvan Learning transferred ownership of the Regina, Saskatchewan center in Canada to Madeline and Neville Fernandes, existing husband-and-wife owners with a center in Saskatoon.
Madeline is originally from Regina and has her bachelor's degree in human justice. She worked in the criminal justice system before transitioning to the center director of Sylvan in Winnipeg. In 2011, she and Neville purchased their first center in Saskatoon.
“It’s an honor to own businesses that are truly making a difference, especially in my hometown,” said Madeline. “There is an incredible demand for supplemental education support across Saskatchewan, and we now own the only two centers in the province. We have a huge opportunity to grow these centers and serve more families, and we’re proud to take on that responsibility.”
For more than four decades, Sylvan Learning has been producing results for students. Now, as students and educators nationwide continue to work to close the gap from pandemic-related learning loss, its resources are in more demand than ever.
“The Regina center is in great hands with Madeline and Neville,” said Susan Valverde, Brand President at Sylvan. “They’ve shown great dedication and passion in growing their influence in Saskatchewan, and we’re confident in their ability to carry on the legacy of this center.”
