ZIPS Dry Cleaners Opens Second Store in Indianapolis

October 28, 2019 // Franchising.com // GREENBELT, Md. - ZIPS Dry Cleaners is opening its second Indianapolis location on November 15, just months after opening its first.

The new store will be located at 8553 Ditch Road. This will be the second Indianapolis location for local entrepreneurs Emma and Larry Frutkin. Their first location opened in the Clearwater Springs Shopping Center in early February of this year.

“Indianapolis is embracing our eco- and wallet-friendly concept, so we’re thrilled to bring ZIPS to another neighborhood in town,” said Larry, an Indianapolis native. “With ZIPS, you know exactly how and where your clothes are being cleaned, and what it’s going to cost you.”

At ZIPS, a customer can have any item of clothing dry cleaned for $2.49. It doesn’t matter if the item is a pair of pants, a dress, or a winter coat, the price is $2.49, 60 percent less than the national average. Garments are also cleaned on-site, allowing for same-day service.

“Dry cleaning has been confusing and frustrating for customers in the past because no one was able to explain why different items cost different prices,” said Emma. “ZIPS has changed the game by charging a low flat rate for all garments. It is a revolutionary, yet simple concept and we are excited to be able to share it with the Indianapolis community.”

Additionally, ZIPS is leading the way with new environmentally friendly practices, such as its use of biodegradable plastic bags and hanger recycling program. ZIPS recycles thousands of hangers each year, uses 100% biodegradable plastic bags, and focuses on continuing to reduce water usage and waste production.
