Jersey Mike's Opens 10th Houston Area Location in Spring

Owners Celebrate Grand Opening with Free Subs

August 21, 2013 - SPRING, Texas – Jersey Mike’s Subs, known for its fresh sliced/fresh grilled Jersey Shore-style subs, officially opened its doors in Spring on August 14. Franchise owners Katharine Brown and her son Dallas Brown held a grand opening and free sub fundraiser from Wednesday, August 14 to Sunday, August 18 to support the Texas Youth Football and Cheer Association.

The new restaurant, located at 2150 FM 2920, circulated 10,000 coupons throughout the community offering a free regular sub for a minimum $1 contribution to the Texas Youth Football and Cheer Association.

Started at the Jersey Shore in 1956, Jersey Mike's continued its steady growth in 2012 opening 92 new restaurants throughout the country, a 33 percent increase in new store growth over 2011.

The Browns exemplify Jersey Mike’s quest for excellence as it selects franchise owners who share the company's commitment to quality products and exceptional customer service and who are dedicated to giving back to the local community. Since 2010, locations throughout the country have raised almost $7 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 500,000 free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

“Our family has been in the restaurant business for over 30 years and Jersey Mike’s is a great next step for us,” said Katharine Brown. “When my youngest son and now business partner, Dallas, graduated from Texas A&M in May, we immediately knew this was the right time to start a new family business.

“Our decision to franchise with Jersey Mike’s was all about two things: the food and the culture of giving,” she said. “We absolutely love the product and we love that Jersey Mike’s is such a community-oriented organization. For our grand opening we will be holding a five day fundraiser to support the Texas Youth and Football Cheer Association. We are hopeful that through the money we raise we will be able to give back to many local youth football players and cheerleaders.”

The company uses only private labeled meats and cheeses that are sliced fresh for each sub sandwich and piled high on in-store baked bread. This is the first Jersey Mike’s location for the Browns.
