Robert A. Funk Selected to Chair Federal Reserve's Conference of Chairmen
January 3, 2007 -- Robert A. Funk, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Express Personnel Services International, Oklahoma City, Okla., has been elected chairman of the Federal Reserve's Conference of Chairmen.
The conference meets twice annually to consider matters of common interest and to consult with and advise the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Meetings are attended by the chairman and deputy chairman of each of the 12 regional Federal Reserve Banks. Mr. Funk is chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City's Board of Directors.
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City since August 2003. He was appointed the Board's chairman in 2005 and was reappointed to serve as chairman in 2006 and 2007.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and its Branches in Oklahoma City, Denver and Omaha serve the Tenth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses the western third of Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Colorado and northern New Mexico. As a part of the nation's central bank, the Bank participates in setting national monetary policy, supervising and regulating numerous commercial banks and bank holding companies and providing services to depository institutions.
