DENVER, CO (March 2, 2006) – After a powerhouse year in 2005, Maui Wowi Hawaiian Coffees & Smoothies® prepares to spread its "Aloha spirit" to even more retail locations across the United States. Business experts are taking note: Entrepreneur ranked Maui Wowi Hawaiian no. 142 on its Top 500 Franchise list online for 2006. The company’s consistent double digit growth is just part of the reason.

* A 14.3 percent increase in revenue, from $5.4 million in 2004 to $6.3 million in 2005.
* A 38.5 percent increase in franchises sold over last year, from 56 to 91 in 2005.
* 441 operating units in 41 states.

In 2006 the goal is to open 41 retail locations. Maui Wowi Hawaiian is ahead of its plan, poised to reach more than 60 percent of its objective by mid-2006. Eleven new stores are scheduled to open their doors in the first quarter, with 15 more to follow in the second quarter.

Maui Wowi Hawaiian originated as an event cart business and watched as customer loyalty and response for its proprietary products grew to where other successful business models were formed to meet consumer demand. Over the last two years Maui Wowi Hawaiian has seen a shift and the majority of new franchises are purchasing the Maui Wowi Hawaiian’s retail location concept, designed for use in malls, strip centers, lifestyle centers, airports, office buildings, and health clubs.

Building on its philosophy of flexibility, Maui Wowi Hawaiian is creating a wave of new products, expanding its business model opportunities, and conducting a complete redesign of its retail location concept for 2006 and a retail line by later 2006/2007.

With international expansion on the horizon, the company plans to add locations in Canada and Japan.
