Partners Add Hummus To Their Burger and Chicken Empire

Operating nearly 200 Burger King and Popeyes locations just wasn't enough for franchise partners Jay Gill and Patrick Sidhu. The brothers-in-law just signed a deal that will see them bring five The Hummus & Pita Co., locations to the Atlanta area over the next two years.

The partners, who were named Burger King "Franchisee of the Year" in 2015, have a portfolio that includes more than 170 Burger King locations and 14 Popeyes restaurants throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

"We were looking to diversify our restaurant portfolio in the Atlanta area and saw the Mediterranean segment as the next big thing in the Southeast," said Gill and Sidhu. "The Hummus & Pita Co. has unlimited growth potential, and we can't wait to bring the concept's variety of authentically flavorful, healthy and innovative options, like dessert hummus and hummus shakes, to Atlanta diners."

The Hummus & Pita Co., has been operating since 2011. The brand's Mediterranean menu is made from scratch at each location daily, using fresh ingredients to ensure high-quality, flavor-focused eats for every guest. The brand offers its freshly-baked pita and laffa breads, a variety of vegetarian dishes, meats cooked in a traditional taboon oven, and it's signature hummus-based dessert offerings like the Hummus Shake and Hummus Ice Cream.
